Canadian readers - and those visiting the Great White North this summer and fall - are in for a treat! Dara Gold, Keen Tea Thyme's own resident tea stain artist, will be featured this weekend at The Distillery Art Market! The market runs every weekend through Oct. 16th, so even if you can't make it there this weekend, her work - along with many others - will still be on display for a couple months.

At The Distillery Art Market,  Ms. Gold will feature many of her favorite pieces and will unveil a brand new print, of which only ten (10) exist! Stop by the exhibit to learn more from this amazing, one-of-a-kind artist - and to learn how to owe one of ten amazing masterpieces.


But that's not all. Ms. Gold will also feature mini tea stain art pieces for $10 each - and many made to order! That's right, pick your favorite and she'll paint it for you on the spot. $10 and ten minutes later you'll own your very own mini. Cool, eh?

Dara Gold to compete in Art Battle 15

Dara Gold, Keen Tea Thyme's celebrity tea stain artist, is competing in an Art Battle! This venue, which takes place next week in Canada, gives 16 artists a chance to compete for the title of Art Champion based on votes from the audience.

How does this work? Ms. Gold explained in an e-mail that the 16 painters will paint over three rounds: eight in the first two, followed by four in the final round, all battling for the champion title. At the end of the first two rounds, the audience votes for their favorites, who will move on for the final round.

Ms. Gold is one of the eight pre-selected artists! Congrats, Ms. Gold! :) The other eight will be randomly selected.

Each painting will be available for auction at the end of the event. There will also be a small gallery of artwork created outside the art battlegrounds for sale in addition to contender pieces.

"Whether you're looking for some art to put on your wall or are just an awesome way to spend a Tuesday evening, come out watch some live painting and vote!" Ms. Gold said. "It should be a ton of fun for all who attend."

Art Battle 15 will take place on Tues., June 28, 2011 at The Great Hall 1087 Queen St. West, in Toronto, Canada. Tickets are $15 at the door. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., painting begins at 8 p.m.

Dara Gold - Our Tea Stain Artist in Group Gallery in Toronto

Canadian tea drinkers - and Canadian tourists - are in for a treat! One of my favorite local artists - and definitely the best tea stain artist - Dara Gold will be showing two of her paintings in a group show at Toronto's Gallery Hittite! The show runs from  Fri., June 17 through Sat., July 9, 2011.


The show opening is from 7-9 p.m., on Fri., June 17.

I am a US citizen with an outdated passport so I can't get to the showing to meet her and see some of her fabulous work in person. I'm counting on you Canadian readers to help! :)
